I couldn't be more pleased with how CUES Experience is shaping up. CUES' new learning opportunity for credit union marketers, operations, and technology staff is going to be a great event. No doubt about it.
I blogged a couple months ago that Arkadi Kuhlmann, ING Direct's president/CEO and chairman, is going to kick off the event for us with a discussion of strategy and a Q&A session. But since that time, we've added a lot to the line-up.
In addition to sessions led by the likes of William Azaroff, Ron Shevlin, Stefani and Julie Norvaisas, Steve Williams, and Jeremy Gutsche, attendees will get to visit some of the leading companies in the Minneapolis area. (For more on why we selected Minneapolis, click here.) Think of this, attendees will leave the conference room behind and learn about:
- Building community relations from executives of the Minnesota Twins,
- Branding and innovation from the leaders at the Mall of America,
- Competing against the giants (something the Packers could stand to learn) and innovative marketing from the founder and CEO of Summit Brewing Company, or
- Keeping ahead of the curve and making better business decisions from management at Fair Isaac.
We don't want to leave it at that though. Just cool tours and interesting sessions led by business leaders don't do much to help improve our industry, so we're following up our business visits with workshops facilitated by Denise Wymore, Stefanie and Julie Norvaisas, Brent Dixon, Steve Williams, and Morriss Partee. These workshops will be designed to help attendees boil down what they learned on their business visits to formulate actionable takeaways to better their own CUs.
I am excited about CUES Experience and I'm telling everyone I know about it, even if they're not credit union folk. It makes the hair on my arm raise up just thinking about the program. Does this make me a geek? Probably, but at least I'm a geek who gets to go to one of the most innovative learning opportunities available to credit unions. I hope you'll be there too.
