Choose Your Own Experience-Help Me Choose Mine

I used to devour books from the "Choose Your Own Adventure" series. I liked them because I had significant control over how the story progessed and ended. After reading the introduction, I'd get to choose which way the plot would turn. "If you want X to happen, turn to page 10," the book would offer. Or "If you want Y to happen, turn to page 14."

So it's not surprising that I'm excited about attending CUES Experience: Immersion Learning for Credit Union Marketing, Operations and Technology Professionals, slated for Minneapolis this May. After hearing a conference introduction from ING Chairman and president/CEO Arkadi Kuhlman (great opener, Christopher!), event attendees and I will be able to choose our own adventure. Or perhaps more aptly said, we'll be able to choose our own "experience."

What do I mean? On day two of CUES Experience, everyone will leave the conference center for an onsite experience of their choice:

  • Head to Mall of America to learn how it became a household name and created a global brand.
  • Visit the Minnesota Twins and learn how the team molded public opinion to achieve its goal for a new stadium.
  • Tour Fair Isaac and learn why this provider of credit scoring technology continues to be regarded as an innovator.
  • Check out true guerilla marketing at Summit Brewing Company.
  • Experience the creative genius of Pixel Farm/Pixel Farm Interactive, which has done some video production work for Prince (and Target and Matchbox 20 and the Barenaked Ladies and BMW and Best Buy and Foo Fighters and and and ...).

So many good options, beer, shopping, sports and more. What to do?

I'm still undecided, nay, wavering hard between the choices. Where would you suggest I go and why? Which are you planning to choose? Those of you leading tours, make the case for why folks should join your off-site group!
