Where's Rob?

Credit unions run promos and sponsor booths at ballgames and other events all the time. Just think if your credit union could get one entire section of the crowd to stand up and take notice of you. I mean really take notice of you. Check out this video.

This improv group got a crowd of New Yorkers (New Yorkers!) to really care if Rob got back to his seat. By the end of the game people in the crowd wanted their picture taken with the dude. Just think if this had happened at a ballgame in your market and Rob had been wearing a T-shirt with your credit union’s logo on it! People go to ballgames to have fun, to be entertained. But the truth is, sometimes the games aren’t enough. That presents an opportunity for marketers—if they can come up with something that’s new and different. These people went to a basketball game expecting to watch one of the NBA’s worst teams play from the nosebleed section. They ended up having a night they are sure to tell their friends about. Let’s say your credit union hired a local improv company to pull his off at a local ball game. Once the trick caught on, you could give t-shirts away to everyone in that particular section. It’s a word-of-mouth marketer's dream. This video reminds us that if you can make people laugh during a night out, it’s pretty hard to go wrong.
