I’m going to share something with you that I’m not proud of.
Even though my dad held local public offices, even though my husband is a registered lobbyist, even though I develop content on the importance of advocacy, I sometimes fear the outcome of elections has little impact. (Don’t worry. I still vote!)
CUES’ board and staff are asking you to make a very important vote this week in an effort to name the Next Top Credit Union Exec.
With the help of Currency Marketing, I’ve been following the six finalists’ blogs and videos for months. Last night I observed and spoke with some of them at CUES’ CEO/Executive Team Network™ in Dallas. Today I saw them make the final pre-vote presentations.
These six bright leaders are behaving how all candidates for election should act:
1. They sat together at dinner, listening and learning from each other.
2. They shared drinks near the pool table.
3. They respectfully asked attendees for their votes, and told me they had initiated grassroots campaigns back home.
4. Their presentations focused on projects designed to move their credit unions forward, and then to be shared so that other credit union leaders can learn and move forward also.
5. They spoke about the other finalists with admiration.
How refreshing! The search for the Next Top Credit Union Exec is a healthy competition… good for the finalists, good for the credit union movement, and even good for you! You can learn from these six inspirational and passionate individuals by going to www.NextTopCreditUnionExec.com/vote on Nov. 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, and reviewing their presentation PowerPoints and videos. Please take the time to vote for your favorite!
Regardless of the vote totals, each is already a winner. From a purely selfish standpoint, I know this election will have an impact no matter who wins.
