I am very proud to announce that five CUES Councils have joined together to donate $500 each to the Fred Johnson Scholarship Fund: the CUES Canada Council, the CUES Delaware Council, the CUES Iowa Council, the CUES New England Council, and the CUES Rocky Mountain Council.
In 2012, CUES joined with the National Credit Union Foundation to create the schoolarship fund to support individuals who wish to attend CUES’ CEO Institute.
“What could be more appropriate than a scholarship given in Fred Johnson's honor?" said NCUF Executive Director Bucky Sebastian on the occasion. "He and CUES are all about education."
CUES Councils are run by members on a volunteer basis and serve CUES members regionally, offering networking and career-enhancing resources to credit union leaders.
Many of the council officers who have attended CEO Institute love the program and suggest it to everyone. With these donations, the councils wanted to honor Johnson, who retired in December after 23 years as CEO of CUES.
