Directors of $50 million credit union adopt meeting technology that supports serving Main Street America.

Four Seasons Federal Credit Union in Opelika, Ala., has a lot to be proud of.
In October 1964, seven employees of the U.S. Rubber Company founded what was then known as Opelika Rubber Workers FCU. In 1974, the credit union’s name changed to Opelika Royal FCU. This new local alternative to traditional banking grew slowly in its early years, reaching $1 million in assets in 1977. In 1987, Opelika Royal FCU became Royal FCU, and the National Credit Union Administration granted Royal FCU a designation in October of 2000 that allowed it to accept members who live, work, worship, or attend school in Lee County, Ala.
In 2007, Royal FCU became Four Seasons FCU. Today the credit union manages over $50 million in assets, serves almost 9,000 members, has been in business for more than 50 years and operates two full-service branches.
As the CU expanded, its leadership recognized the need to streamline board meetings and deliver a better meeting experience to the organization’s directors. Ben Stone, Four Seasons FCUs’ information technology director, was tasked with identifying a solution that would reduce the resources and time that staff spent preparing board meeting materials. Given that credit unions are highly regulated, any board portal selected would have to meet Four Seasons FCU’s strict security and compliance requirements.
After reviewing more than 15 potential solutions, Stone selected BoardPaq.
“BoardPaq has the perfect blend of ease of use and the features we were looking for,” Stone says. “Because the platform is so easy to use, we’ve had to do hardly any training for directors. BoardPaq has been incredibly easy to deploy. But it isn’t just ease of use that makes BoardPaq such a great fit for our credit union. The development team really listens, cares about our concerns and is responsive to our needs.
“I really can’t say enough about how good it has been to work with the team at BoardPaq, and what a great fit their technology has been for our board of directors by saving us time, keeping us organized, and maintaining our security and compliance,” he adds.
Since its founding, BoardPaq has focused on delivering exceptional customer service, security, compliance, and paperless meeting solutions to credit unions. BoardPaq’s headquarters are located on a historic main street that feels just like a small town in the suburbs outside of St. Louis. Because of its small-town roots, BoardPaq recognizes the important role credit unions play in smaller communities like Opelika, Ala. Credit unions are the lifeblood of local economies—financing car loans, student loans, mortgages and small-business loans. In other words, credit unions help finance the American Dream. We’re proud that organizations like Four Seasons FCU choose to be part of the BoardPaq family.
