Let's give the gift of time to our employees so that they have time to be curious and generous.

In this video, Hayagreeva Huggy Rao, Ph.D., defines good friction and bad friction. Rao is the Atholl McBean Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources at Stanford University and the author of several books, most recently, The Friction Project, on which this video is based.

In this 10-minute clip, Rao discusses how he and co-author Bob Sutton got interested in studying friction in organizations and how both authors believe that leaders need to become “friction fixers.” A friction fixer actively institutes good friction and eliminates bad friction in their organizations. But when is each needed? Watch the video to learn more.
